Due to the uncertainty around Covid-19 and the implications on international travel and gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the AMH Conference until 2021. We have put in place dates for the rescheduling of the conference for the 15 – 18 of June, 2021.
If you have already registered for this event, a member of our conference team will be in touch regarding the transfer or refund of your registration fees.
Registration will re-open for the 2021 event at the end of the year.
Organiser: Dr Ciara Breathnach.
Conference Administrator: Dr Rachel Murphy.
This conference invites practitioners, artists, scholars and patients to think about space in the broadest terms. This may take the form of considering the physical spaces in which healthcare is delivered or the contexts of public and private discourses about health and illness. It may take the form of considering how work in the Medical Humanities opens up critical understandings of space; its metaphors, configuration and geographies.
Professor Rose Anne Kenny, Professor of Medical Gerontology, Trinity College Dublin.
Dr Brandy Schillace, Editor in Chief, Medical Humanities (BMJ).
Professor Scott Podolsky, Professor of Global Health and Social Medicine, Harvard University.
Listen to Ciara Breathnach (@CiaraBreath), Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Limerick, Ireland, and organiser of the AMH 2020 Conference, in conversation with Brandy Schillace. This discussion includes the forthcoming conference.
